E a tua mamma??

Your CV in a few words
My mother is a dressmaker; watching her while working was the best way to learn about clothes. Later, I studied Politics, followed by a Masters in Marketing and Communication at the IED and then I’ve attended an Image Consultant course at the Istituto Marangoni* in Milan.

* the most famous fashion school in Milan

The Image Consultant is a new job for Italy – how do you promote your job and how to you win scepticism?
I am developing Fashionista. my professional role of an Image Consultant. The idea is to study, research, learn as well as gaining experience directly from the field. As this job is new in Italy, sometimes finding success stories and information to refer to is particularly tough. But I love new challenges and I am happy to face new opportunities ... all needs to be built from scratch!

Do you work with fashionable clients or are them totally new at style and glam?
My clients are often in need of emotional support as they are experiencing some changes in their lives.
The Image Consulting actually goes much deeper than pure looks and outfits. You can reach the most intimate and sensitive part of a woman and you can managing to get her confidence back as well as improve her self-esteem.

I saw the pictures of a young successful writer styled by you. What if you have to dress up Kate Middleton? What do think of Anna Dello Russo’s style? Suppose you have to help Lapo Elkann for his shopping ...
For Duchess Kate it would be interesting to keep on her current trend of wearing designers mixed to high street brands.
Anna Dello Russo is fun, but her is a ‘branded image’ so I wouldn’t call her a style icon. Sometimes I feel like she is not perfectly comfortable in her looks.
Lapo has a strong personality. I like his unique style which definitely represents the way he is.
I'd like to show him around for the unconventional shopping streets of Turin.

Tell us the greatest approval you received from your job
The greatest achievement was receiving a professional recognition of my mother.
However, since I decided to follow my career path I was happy to see step by step results: with new contacts, connections through my blog, unexpected collaborations, requests for help, wardrobes’s rearrangements, shopping tours and of course, recognition by clients I work with.

Tell us the truth; it is easier to give fashion tips to or to a friend? And to your mom?
A client who that looks for my help has every mean to trust and listen to my advices and suggestions. And the same happen with friends and my mother.

How much patient should you be with uncertain, insecure and fearful clients…?
It 'important to listen to clients who are often unable to voice their needs. I am making clients feeling comfortable and relaxed so they and let it go. But it should also be able to drive them in the right direction, because often the client has to give up habits that necessarily need to be reviewed.

What’s next?
I’ll be working for a very innovative Temporary shop in Torino, jointly with Fabrizio Abate, owner of the Atelier of art and design Abate by Cisd di Torino

I’ll be teaching at a workshop in April, in one of the most exclusive culture’s club in Torino, but I cannot tell you more right now!

  10. Interesting job you have here :) Helping people seeing their potential and improving their appearance is very important in my opinion. Many people just walk through their lives without knowing why they are unhappy and how they can improve without changing their personality.
Fashion for me is a strong way to give one confidence and self-respect.
    Like your work!
