Designer bakery
Friday, 3 February 2012

Do you remember one of my craziest and most seen posts about designer water?
Here is the second episode:
Designer bakeries
I think there is nothing more satisfying than warm, freshly baked bread with my cup of coffee or tea in the morning.
To me, there isn’t anything else more comforting and familiar than a soft, mouth-watering loaf of bread.
Italy is a well known place for nice quality bread and anything can be missing in a meal but the bread.
Bakeries are everywhere and funny thing, we are experiencing the rise of cool designer bakeries.
No longer do we just enjoy the taste of our baked goods, but we now are invited to also visually feast our eyes at many new bakeries.
Here are some examples of brand new bakeries in Italy and Europe:

My lovely friend Anna (check her blog here) invited me to attend the amazing exhibition of D.A.E. Design Academy Ehindoven (Holland) during Milan Design week.
All projects have been designed by students she follows as Master Coordinator.

Designer water the new wine

First of all, it was funny to get a designer piece for so little money.
And second, Missoni is my neighbour (yes, family home and factory are 2 blocks away), and I felt home!
Anyway, in one of my first posts, I recall publishing some pictures from a bottle of Evian designed by Paul Smith.
So, I did some research on 'water and designers' and found out that many fashion designers have adventured into the 'water' field. What's the added value to a bottle of water?
From my side, I love flowers and I love to use unique bottles instead of vases.
Neverthless, the feeling to own a designer piece. Not talking about the shape of the bottle that can be a real state-of-the-art piece of design.
In my research I have found out that the bottle of water is a also a good piece of merchandise and promotion and offers an incredible variety of personalisation.
Evian is the worldwide water brand that more then anyone collaborate with designers.
San Pellegrino and Perrier are also good examples.
Mastermind Japan per Fillico water
Burlesque water!
From Norway, Isklar water
Last but not least, drinking one glass of water (room temperature) as soon as you wake up in the morning will help to detox your body, flash out all impurities, help your bow to be regular, restore those water the body has lost during the sleeping, works wonder on your skin. Remember to drink water regularly during the day to keep your lovely body hidrated.

Did I ever tell you that I used to be a graphic designer and illustrator?
A work that I ABSOLUTELY adored and that was all my life.
I worked for many companies and people doing almost any kind of stuff!
A collaboration with Benetton and Diesel introduced me to the world of fashion. And many male friends get me to decorate their motorbike, helmets and cars.
I made art pieces for friends instead of buying them present and it was always a success to give them something handmade from me!
here is a little selection of some of my works:
the quality of the pictures are poor as I had to scan very old pictures.

watercolour

collage

acrylics on wood board

airbrush on motorbyke helmet

acrylics
Do you like any of them?

Beauty consultant, make-up artist, almost-lawyer and great friend Lisa has applyed to an OPI contest on Trendynail's blog back in June.
The girl has a penchant for nail polish, a great artistic eye and good taste in fashion.
Look at the picture she used for the contest:
nail polish: Atomic Orange
nail polish: Midnight in Moscow
nail polish: Who comes up with these names
nail polish: Parlez vous OPI
And this is the award winning picture:

Definitely this is my favourite of all these pictures! What's yours?
