Summer vacations anyone?

Life is busy. I am running errands everyday.
I had a promotion, I am travelling (not much but still), we are house hunting and have a couple of amazing 'secret' projects we are working at.

That said, a few days ago we realised Summer it's just around the corner. Like most Italians, our Summer break will be August (just 1 month away!).

This mean we will not be able to plan any exotic, tropical, paradise escape: over priced, packed or difficult to organise with such short time.

It's a pity. But this is how life goes. And to be honest, we do need any special place to have fun and wnjoy ourself. Even the small lake around the corner can be the most beautiful and relaxed place if taken with the right attitude and look at with different eyes.

Being able to take 3 weeks off and travel (despite the destination) is still a luxury to me.

Honestly I need to admit that we are not stuck at home.....since the New Year Break we have been to Barcellona, L'Aquila, San Remo, Oxford and many other places.

Therefore, I should not complain...

As mentioned, I was in a San Diego for a company conference. I will not publish the event pictures as there are many colleagues and confidential info in it.

But I felt it would be nice sharing with you a few pics taken during the (very little) free time I had!

I am following up on this post I wrote before my trip to the US. I have to admit that I've done a good job on packing the right outfits and I wore almost everything I carried.

My flight back on Saturday was in the evening therefore I took the chance to go shopping at Las Americas outlet. Great finds, stunning American brands, super deals! soon some pictures

I am not new at travelling but somehow I stress myself over what to bring in my next trip everytime. I am very good at matching things, I am aware of the dress codes, the basic fashion and packing rules, bla, bla...

My willing to look perfect in every situation could be rather challenging. Eventually, I managed to bring lot of stuff that would never been worn. But I rather not wearing all clothes then find myself without that dress or that pair of shoes tough.

 

When you'll be reading this post I'll be in California for a company conference. I am 100% sure packing for this trip will be no easy task as usual. On the other hand, being at a conference means smart dressing, business casual and no denim, flat shoes or sweatpants.

 

This is quite a first good step while packing, don't you think? You know already what you'll going to wear.

I've check online at the conference hotel surroundings and there's a designer outlet at a walking distance. I can always pop there for some emergency fashion-fix, right???  ;-)

I am mad about ankle cropped trousers as I am wearing FAB shoes and I want it to be seen ;-)

Neutral tones are always preferred when it comes to corporate profiles yet certain roles.

Those clutches are amazing but definitely too small for holding all my belongings (so the third option is preferred).

As per the shoes? This pair is fantastic!

While in California I've spent a weekend in LA and what'd be a better opportunity for meeting other bloggers?

In fact, I met with incredibly beautiful Jamie from GlamLatte.
I follow her blog religiously as I love her style.

I thought she was beautiful, but after seeing her in person, well I think she is even more stunning! We had dinner in a cute very-American diners and chatted all the way on life, fashion, travel and blogging.

I hope she will be able to come over to Europe as I'd love to show her Milan and its magnificents shops.

What else two fashion bloggers can do together??

Neutral tones

Playing safe with neutral colors. But the result is not that bad, what do you think?
I am wearing my beloved neutral blazer and a fantastic striped shirt bought in Prague. Then, my first and only pair of skinny jeans with stud and diamantè details on the pocket. Do you like the shoes? I bought it for a wedding but its too nice to wear it only on special occasions. A touch of sparkle is add by the necklace. Last but not least, my favourite handbag.

Colori neutri = no stress. Ma il risultato non é male, che ne pensate? Indosso una delle mia giacche preferite dal color sabbia e una camicetta a righe acquistata a Praga. Quindi il mio primo paio di jeans attillati con borchie e diamantini applicati sulle tasche. Vi piacciono le scarpe? Le ho comprate per andare ad un matrimonio ma sono troppo belle per indossarle solo nelle occasioni speciali. Un tocco di luce é dato dalla collana vistosa. Ultima, la mia borsa preferita.

Si, perché mi sono cambiata 2 volte al giorno, per 7 giorni (avevo un'enorme valigia, lo so).


What I have found challenging was how to dress because of the Desert's heat and the (bloody) air conditioning! blazers and cardi all the time to take on and off.
and then there was the welcome reception, the gala dinner, the trip to LA. But I have did pretty good. and I am sorry I cannot show you more.

La sfida é stata soprattutto su come vestirsi visto il contrasto del caldo torrido del deserto e dell'aria condizionata al chiuso. Giacche e cardigan si sono rivelati indispensabili. e poi c'è stato il cocktail di benvenuto, la cena di gala, il giro a LA. Ma me la sono cavata bene e con stile. Mi spiace non potervi mostrare di più.

still jetlagged, busy with the after-conference stuff, not sure I have reconnetted with my Italian self.
